Jessica & Jake’s Wedding!

Jessica and Jake are such a fun couple, and so well-suited for one another. They met in a Bible study class at church a couple of years ago, and friendship soon blossomed into love. The adoration they feel for each other is clearly evident in the way they interact, the way they touch, the looks they exchange. It’s delightful to see.

The spring-like February day was perfect for Jessica and Jake to begin their marriage. Ken took advantage of the just-opened cherry blossoms for a shot of the couple’s wedding rings. (He asked if I added the “bling” when I edited this image, but I didn’t!)

One of Jessica’s gifts is playing the cello, and her mom really wanted a few photos of her playing while in her wedding dress. Love it! While Ken was playing with wedding rings, I had the pleasure of listening to the bride play her cello. (Ken was jealous when he found out he missed it. Bwahaha!)

Once all the girls were ready, we set out to play. Jessica and her bridesmaids all brought a pair of funky shoes for a fun photo. Feather boas accompanied the funky shoes! Fun, fun, fun!

We did a few photos without funky shoes and boas, too.

Once Jessica and the girls sequestered themselves away in the Bride’s Room (with a supply of sweet tea), we spent some time with Jake and the guys. His brother Daniel served as best man.

groom best man boutonnière

Boutonnières and bouquets by Sherilyn Franklin are fab-u-lous! The groom’s boutonnière is a succulent with one anemone flower. (I know flowers pretty well, but I totally blanked on the anemone!)

Jessica and Jake’s wedding ceremony was so sweet. Since they met in Bible study, their class teacher officiated the meaningful ceremony. Once vows and rings were exchanged, Jake was instructed to kiss his bride. He did so — and for such a long time that the guests all began giggling, which led to Jessica and Jake laughing, too.

This look they exchanged tells me they are delighted to be husband and wife.

After formal photos with family, we spent a little time with just Jessica and Jake.

The images below are my faves of the day. Jake is a handsome guy, but Jessica’s eyes — and this look — oh, my!

The reception at Olde Towne Club was just across the street from the ceremony location, (our home church, Johnson Ferry). The couple displayed engagement photos on their sign-in table, and the wooden pen for the guest book was made by Jake’s brother.

And a sweet father-daughter and mother-son dance followed soon after.

Thanks to a fun crowd and a rockin’ band, NU Sol, the dance floor stayed packed.

After a fabulous party, Jessica and Jake sprinted through sparklers to the limo awaiting them.

Jessica and Jake, we wish you all the best, and pray many blessings on your marriage!
