Diane & Brandon: Engagement Session

At Christmastime, in front of the big Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, our son Brandon asked his long-time girlfriend Diane to marry him. She said yes. (Of course!) Since then, they’ve been excitedly planning their wedding. They’ve chosen to have a summertime wedding next June — but because it’s rather far off, and because June is always such a busy wedding season, they wanted to get their save-the-date cards sent out ASAP! So it was time for an engagement session!

Engagement Session Piedmont Park

Brandon and Diane chose Piedmont Park as the location for their engagement photos. I love the Atlanta skyline in the background.

This kissy one is my fave of the day. They are SO cute!

Yes, we’ll be photographing their wedding ourselves! It’ll take a bit of creativity to pull that off, but we just couldn’t let anyone else do it! It will be so special to us to be able to do this for them, and I hope it will be meaningful to them as well. We’re excited!

Amber & Skylar: Engagement Session

Amber and Skylar are engaged!

Skylar and our son Brandon are good friends. Amber and Skylar got engaged shortly after Brandon got engaged, but Amber and Skylar are getting married this summer, while Brandon and Diane plan to wait another year. Skylar and Amber’s wedding will be fun for a number of reasons, including the fact that Brandon will be one of the groomsmen!

Laughter. Amber and Skylar are full of laughter.

And Amber — you are gorgeous! Clearly, Skylar thinks so, too.

It was so very cold during this session, but Amber and Skylar didn’t let it show. They even let a bit of silliness emerge. (We like that because we’re rather silly ourselves!)

This painted brick wall is fantastic, complete with peeling plaster. Ken and I each had a different take on this shot. Ken’s, at left, is very dramatic. I love it! But I like my sweet and sentimental version, too.

Skylar and Amber, thank you for braving the cold with us! June will be here before you know it! Enjoy the next few months, and we look forward to photographing your big day!

Laurie & Sandi: Engagement Session

Next month, we have the pleasure of photographing Laurie and Sandi’s wedding. Recently, Ken took them to the Marietta Square for a fun (and chilly!) engagement session.

I love Jake’s hat; it suits his personality perfectly, and adds a little something unique to their session.

Sarah & Justin: Engagement Session

We love couples in love. We love doing engagement sessions. But this one was extra special because the bride-to-be is our niece! What fun — and what an honor — to be their wedding and engagement photographers!

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for an outdoor session at Kennesaw Mountain.

After playing in the grass, we ventured into the woods. Aren’t they cute????

I suppose Sarah and Justin just exude adorable engagedness (new word I just made up) because another couple walked by on the trail, and wished them congratulations. The couple said they’d been married seventeen years, and told Sarah and Justin, “It just keeps getting better!”engaged couple smiling

I absolutely love this:

After a quick outfit change, Sarah and Justin played a little football…

TN Volunteers vs. UGA Dawgs

Sarah and Justin LOVE football. The Tennessee Volunteers are Sarah’s favorite team, and she even considered making orange her main wedding color! But Justin also loves the University of Georgia, so sometimes there is a little friendly rivalry between them. :)

Sarah and Justin, we are so looking forward to your wedding next summer!
