John is one of the teaching pastors at our church; he is also husband to a sweet and beautiful lady named Roni, and daddy to three good-looking, well-mannered kids. Ever since they moved here to Georgia from Texas, John has wanted photos of the family with a river like this in the background. I’ve never been to Texas myself, but John says there are big, slow-moving kinds of rivers, but nothing where you’d have lovely fast-moving water like this. So, this is where we went for their family photo session!
Gracie and Emma are beautiful, and look so much like their mommy!
We haven’t met a whole lot of boys who love having their photo taken; Ken totally sympathizes with their plight, because he doesn’t love having his photo made either. So he gets them doing fun things whenever possible. After a bit of rock-climbing and rock-skipping, we did some photos up on this old stone wall. When we’d gotten what we needed from Caedon, Ken asked if he wanted to do any more photos, and he said yes, he’d like to. (I think his mom was surprised!) This was the pose Caedon chose, and I think it turned out to be the best one of him from the afternoon.
Sometimes (often) Ken or I (or both!) act like goofballs to get the kids smiling genuinely, but mom helped us out here. Gracie’s giggly smile in this photo is because mommy is hitting Mr. Ken in the head with one of the big dried seed pods that were laying around. And Mr. Ken made funny faces when Mommy bopped him in the head. The other kids thought this was pretty silly, too. But don’t worry — no photographers were harmed in the making of these pictures. :)
Yep, married people portraits. I love ‘em. Who says only engaged or dating couples have romance? Just look at these two lovebirds…
